The 5 series looks boring. And don't bash on me, I like BMWs. So if Tesla is complaining that their design is boring looking, it's because Fisker gave them what they wanted; a car that competes with the 5 on looks.

This car has the looks of a Maserati. A much more classier looking car. IMHO ofcourse.

2. Design of the Tesla sedan was not up to par in looks to a 5 series BMW or a $70k looking car.

My comment was on 2. As far as 1 is concerned, I can't see how that can hold weight either. It's not like electric cars were invented by Tesla. Fisker could have copied the electric design from a number of others, why would he risk it?

He takes on a contract with Tesla and conveniently right after that tenure - his own electric sedan appears, with design way superior to anything that he penned for Tesla.

And that "camo'ed" Karma vaporware PR stunt is just lame. As beautiful as that design is, I hope Karma will never see the light of the day.

Again we don't know any of the details; so who knows what kind of design Tesla asked Fisker to make? I agree that it will be hard to pin anything on Fisker even if the charges were true, esp since so little details on the Fisker is released and it will be hard to look for evidence of any copying technology. Looks are subjective too, so that's going to be a hard thing to pin on Fisker. But there is no denying the Fisker hybrid is pretty much direct competition for the Whitestar, where previously the Whitestar had no competition to speak of. One question: a couple of articles stated that Fisker wants to produce 15,000 units is the Karma - is that 15,000 units annual production, or 15,000 total?

I would want to see this go on successfully, and this is an original design, not a custom, yet tasteful, rendition of an existing sports or GT car.]]>May 9th 2008 11:52PM
