I dont feel sorry for him at all. I feel sorry for the other kid that is now a vegetable for life. Nick will be out in 8 months and live a full life for the next 50 years. Not the friend.

The sentence should be the same length as the friend being stuck in the hospital. When he is out Nick is out.

No doubt Nick got what he deserved and it should probably be more than 8 months. But the other kid should also take some of the responsibility. Sure he got the rotten end of the deal, but that's what you get for hanging out with the wrong crowd. It's tough growing up, but that's life. You pick your friends.

Not sure how you can feel bad for the kid in the passenger seat. He did decide not to wear a seat belt and Hogan did and look who's walking with no injuries
Johnny @ May 9th 2008 7:52PM
At Gator:
Just because he was not wearing a seatbelt doesnt mean he deserves what he got.
Just because a girl wears a miniskirt doesnt mean she is asking to be raped
Just because a guy enlists in the army doesnt mean the commanders can neglect their lives and have them be killed
Just because a guy jumps a subway turnstyle doesnt mean he should be tasered immediately and killed
Just because you get a job as a window washer doesnt mean your employer should slack off on safety
Just because you work at a meatpacking plant with sharp knives doesnt mean you asked for your arm to be cut off
I am all for personal responsibility dont get me wrong. But this Nick kid and especially his family have shown little remorse. Have you seen these people and their reality show? They dont seem to care about anything

Yeah I feel sorry for the kid, but it's almost as much his fault as the driver's. It's not like the kid was like screaming for him to stop and let him out, he was probably encouraging him and enjoying it as well. On top of that, he chose not to wear a seatbelt. Hogan deserves the sentence for reckless driving, but I don't think the results of the passenger should really affect his case.
Now if it was a 6 year old child, then yes, he deserves a very extreme sentence, but it was one of his friends that wanted to ride with him. At least Nick got a sentence though and will have to spend some time in jail, maybe he'll learn something (probably not).

No, it's not.
The only person responsible for the car crash is the person who crashed the car. Nick Hogan bears no less than 100% of the responsibility, and should be serving a life sentence for murdering his friend (yes, rendering someone a vegetable for life is murder. Period.).
pmiddle5 @ May 9th 2008 10:24PM
But he did not take applicable steps to protect himself. They are both dumbasses and both at fault. Obviously more so Baby Hulkster since he was driving the car like a dick and had a BAC of whatever but other guy did not protest and was not wearing a seatbelt. Sure he had a BAC as well.
Rocketboy @ May 11th 2008 8:08AM
I don't feel bad for either. And as much of an idiot the other guy was for not wearing a seatbelt, It still boils down to Hogan. I don't know about the rest of you, but if I have a passenger, my car doesn't start moving on a road until they have their seatbelt on.
