I like how they can take a flat 6 with twin turbochargers and make it that fast and the Bugatti needs a 16 cylinder with quad turbos. I'd take the Porsche.

With gas prices heading to $4.00/gallon and beyond, these beasts will eventually wind up in museums within a couple of years, so enjoy them now (while you can)...

No, no they won't. People that buy these cars have money. People with money, consequently, can afford gas.
You can see the future in Europe if you must; I believe gas there is insanely high at around 6 dollars a gallon. Yet these cars still exist.

I seriously doubt anyone who buys a $1 million Bugatti Veyron or any of these cars for that matter really cares about what the price of gas is. Not only could they afford all the gas they want but they probably won't even drive these cars that much.

I'd rather have the Veyron motor. A twin turbo flat six producing almost 1,000hp? All that power has to be coming in one huge lump at the top of the power band. You'll have nothing, then OMGWTFSPEED. I'll pass.

Exactly, the 0-60 is 4.2 sec. Which is wicked fast, don't get me wrong, but nothing compared to the veyron or the aero. Plus a TT Flat 6 putting out 987HP is a super high stress engine, contrary to a W16 with 4 turbos . . . i really think the Veyron reigns supreme when it comes to top speed . . you're not compromising handling, reliability, or safety, which I think should be a qualification for fastest production car.

that GT9 is not a street car, I think I read that it's REALLY LOUD, I think you'd need earplugs and a helmet.
The Veyron however can be driven around town just fine, and if for some reason you have a need/chance to go 250, you take a few minutes and set the car up for that.... saw the process on Top Gear and was like....Jebus no wonder the car weighs so much.
I'll never get my fingerprints on either of these cars but if I were choosing I think I'd go with the Veyron.... those owners must me a kooky bunch eh?
I like to spend some time with a Tesla or maybe one of those....R8.....bahhh who am i kidding.

the GT9 is a fully legal street car, driven normal it is not louder as a normal Porsche, the car journalist driving with Jan Fatthauer the 200km from 9ff home to Papenburg test track was sleeping in the GT9 while Jan Fatthauer was driving.
Flat engines can handle much more stress than any other engine configuration because they run nearly vibration free. The flat6 has less heat problems as the W16 of the Veyron.
They run into a traffic jam on the way to the testtrack and the GT9 was as easy to drive as any other 911.
BTW with breaking into the 400km/h Club 9ff starts now a limited production run of the GT9 of 20cars... some GT) are already ordered with the "if they do the 400km/h" note..
The 0-100km/h acceleration isn´t impressive because it is hard to make a perfect start without any electronic nannys... that does not stop the GT9 to beat the Veyron 0-300km/h.. and more important.. on the Autobahn the GT9 would make a Veyron driver cry.. 200km/h(125mph) to 300km/h (186mph) the GT9 beats the Veyron by 2.5s..
To get a idea about the different in topspeed accleration between the "slow" Veyron and the GT9..
The Veyron needs in Ehra Lessien a 5.5mile long straight to get to 253mph.. the GT9 had at the Papenburg test track only a short straight (under 2mile including break zone) to get from 190mph (leaving the turn) to get to 254mph befor braking for the next turn.. on the same track the ZR1 accelerated from ~190mph to 206mph befor they slamed the brake for the turn...
With more straight to run I would not be surprised if the GT9 could go faster...

wow holy crap. my wife's cheap old Acura buries the needle at 140mhp, I still like to get any Acura over whatever-egg, 9tf, buyadi, or any widowmakers.
