Nice looking car for sure.
Amazing stats, very impressive.
But what's up with that badly photoshopped looking rear wheel?
Franz @ May 9th 2008 8:48PM
I think it's probably a wheel cover, like those now used in F1. There's definitely an aerodynamic advantage to using them.

Completely flat mean less drag? I think... Pretty important in Vmax runs

I guess wheel well covers such as those famously worn by the Lola T-600's and moon discs are out of style in favor of wheel covers that look like they were lifted out of a comic book.

Sounds like a nice car. Though the new cars are the best I still prefer the 1970's models. This car still is not as fast as the Callaway twin Turbo Sledgehammer Corvette, though close.

These pictures are ooooold. Has there seriously not been any taken since the car was actually finished?

I actually preferred the moon discs.
Everyone seems to constantly forget that the Veyron is 1. Electronically limited to 253mph, not drag limited; it'll go faster 2. It has NEVER actually been tested with the speed limiter removed 3. The Veyron was designed for these speeds, every other car that is attempting to match or beat it is a modified example with the maker trying to show how big his "stick" is. If you want to fight fire with fire, lets put the Veyron in the hands of a Tuner and see who can catch it then. The W16 is under much less stress (regardless of the low vibration of a flat engine) because it has to make less horsepower per cylinder. If you want to match it cylinder for cylinder with this, the Veyron would be making near 3000hp. Let's see this little tuner car catch it then.
