In typical AC Schnitzer fashion, the German tuner wasted no time getting to work on the new BMW 1-series cabrio. Then again, it didn't take much effort to port over the work AC did for the standard 1-series coupe to its softer, drop-top sibling.
The ACS1 Cabrio package includes all the Schitzerfied exterior elements (new front bumper, rear bumper with diffuser and side skirts) and interior bits (silver carbon fiber trim, aluminum pedal and shifter, etc.) you'd expect. More importantly, AC is offering tuning packages for every model in the 1-series lineup, including the 135i, 120d and 123d. The two diesel mills get a bump in power to 200 hp and 240 hp respectively, with the 135i outputting 360 hp through the use of a revised exhaust and some ECU tweaks. Naturally, AC is offering up a plethora of wheel options, sized from 17- to 19-inches.

AC Schnitzer's rims are just fugly, IMO. The ECU mod seems nice, otherwise.... ewwww.

I dont think that I can imagine any guy driving this car... I dont know, something about that body kit makes me think of a chick going to the beach... not that this is a bad thing, but i dont know how many customers like this are going to invest in some AC aftermarket tuneage.

It looks queery, no question. That wouldn't stop me from beating the hell out of it though...

Yea... maybe as a rental... but if I were to buy one... i think that the ridicule from friends would be relentless.

Does it come with gold chains, fake chest hair, and a glue-on, porn-star mustache?
AMcA @ May 7th 2008 10:01PM
Now, if they could only get about 500 lbs out of that little porker.

Next time someone does a body kit for the 1 series...fix the damn huge headlamps first.
Getting rid of the 'surprised look' will go miles in improving looks. A little pricey compared to new vacuum-formed ABS sill extensions, but well worth it.

Funny the previous comments expressed such hate towards this modded 1-series. This is probably the only 1-series coupe that I've liked to look at (granted, haven't seen them in person yet).
And no, I don't wear gold chains, fake chest hair, etc....

ACS = ugly and expensive for what you get
1 series = ugly and expensive for what you get
Combined? worthless.
Sorry why not just get the 335 and alot of tastfull mods for the same price...
And gotta love ACS they make up trim parts just so they can sell them... Roof spoiler... only 360 HP? Dinan and Vishnu are getting 380 hp with no reliability issues, once they upgrade the oil cooler.
Long live the e46 M3!

I saw yesterday my first 1series convertible with open top ... in real world the car looks fantasic it is a real eye catcher.. the most important reason why fashion people buy such convertibles.. and it fit in this rule perfect! The 1series convertible was all red.. personal I would buy a 135i Coupe or the planed tii version
Garythepowers @ May 11th 2008 11:12PM
The tii is going to be awesome! That twin-turbocharged engine is so underrated as it is, chip it and you are in M3 performance territory!

Love it!
I would rock it, why not. If you call cars "chick cars" your insecure about your sexuality, what can we say?
