why not the LS2LS7? @ May 7th 2008 1:22PM
Actually, my friend who is taking a bath on the Hyundai bought it two years old and tried to resell it at almost 4 with very few miles added.
He got a SCREAMING deal on it but he is still losing his ass on it because the resale is so bad. After trying to sell it for a little over half what he paid for it, it's currently sitting in a parking lot thousands of miles from where he now lives.
The resale on the Tiburon is better than other Hyundais because it's cheaper than other Hyundais. You take a bigger bath on more expensive cars, especially from marques like Hyundai.
As to who would try to turn around a car in a short time, take a look at the last Audi thread, with people espousing the virtues of leasing for less than 4 years.
I personally have had my current car for 8.5 years, and I respect Hyundais, BTW. This is the classic case of people on the internet marking people down just because they don't want to hear what they are saying. Assume the wrong things about what I'm saying (that I work from experience of people trying to flip cars bought new) and that I am doing this out of ignorance or hate.
Hyundais have awful resale. Sorry to say it, but it isn't like I'm the one making it happen. Unless you are a buy-and-hold type buyer, you will take a bath on the car. As most people (unlike me) don't like to keep their cars a long time, most customers will want to go for a cheaper model (to limit losses) or another brand.
