Just last week we asked you to help us identify a mystery car we caught on the Nuerburgring Web cam. Knowledgeable reader PandaBeat guessed it was the Veritas RS3 Concept car and won the admiration and respect of the staff, if not other readers.
We've again spied this odd car while checking the Web cam, as well as eagle-eyed readers Eric Recher and Cole Eswein who sent us more evidence. With these much-improved views, we can see that if it is the Veritas, it has grown a hood scoop and some aerodynamic aids beneath its chin, as well as sprouted larger headlamps that wrap above the front fenders.
So does this confirm that our mystery car is the Veritas Concept from 2001 with a few updates? Or are we looking at a new Veritas concept? Is this testing of a production prototype or an entirely different car?
Check out the gallery for more mystery car clues.

Nuerburgring is an alternative spelling as you can see in the web address that belongs to the Nurburgring.

how about you learn english. replacement of umlauts with corresponding digraphs is a common english technique. maybe you should look it up before being critical of our autoblog overlords. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umlaut_(diacritic)

I was there yesterday ...
They closed the ring 10min before time for this ugly car, what a shame ... but damn, what a sound!
There also was an helicopter recording the car's race ...
Neo.Luxembourg @ May 6th 2008 3:17AM
And yes it's the Veritas RS3 ...
Here you have some pics (sry for the poor quality): http://www.tuningzone.lu/host/ring052008/
On the last pic you can (barly) see "Veritas" on the back ...
Go5Go @ May 6th 2008 9:39AM
Nice work Neo.Lux
NOAH @ May 6th 2008 7:56AM
im thinking it could just be some rich tycoon who managed to buy a veritas and thought he could make it look better. who knows? i dont know too much about this car, or even veritas, but i cant see anyyone coming out with something like this. i mean, its way to big to compete with the KTM XBOW, and thats the only car i can think of that could.

I was there yesterday (5.5.2008): It's definately the Veritas RS 3, the Veritas badge was in the back and the RS3 badges were on the sideskirts.
While running in idle, it's nearly noiseless, but while accelerating, it's unbeliveable. The guy was waiting there for a helicopter with a video-cam. When the heli appeared he slammed on the gas and was away.
Down in Adenau we caught him a second time, but he was quite slow...
