Look at the numbers, Mazda is just about the only good thing Ford has going on right now and they refuse to hand this system over because they want people to think of Ford and it's American brands.  Mazda has been providing the platforms for Ford's best cars for several years now and what does Mazda get? The TC is a generation back (SCP-based.)
