The reborn Carrozzeria Touring made a big splash at Villa d'Este. As the featured marque of the Concorso d'Eleganza this year, the fathers of the classic Superleggera construction method took the wraps off two stunning coachbuilt Maseratis. While we wait for Touring to release more information on the swoopy A8 GCS sportscar and Bellagio Fastback, the Carrozzeria has graced us with a few new images of the two cars.
The photos of the A8 GCS show the custom coupe in a much better light than the initial batch, and there's another shot of the Quattroporte-based Bellagio, as well. As you can see in the latter, the side windows on the wagon are blanked out, but while the extension might not do any favors for blind-spot visibility, we hardly think that's the point as the design and craftsmanship appear second to none. Check out the images in the two galleries below to see for yourself.

Looks nice. It looks like Alfa Romeo's 8c Competizione's older brother.

This car is gorgeous! Replace the vegetable-strainer grill mesh with the standard vertical billet Maserati grill and put some better rolling stock on there and it'd be a heartbreaker.

Entire fake windows on the hatchback? Are they kidding? It is bad enough when some car makers over extend their window trim, but fake windows? Lets hope this is s photographic anomaly and that such a thing is not being considered, particularly on what looks like a beautiful car.

That coupe' is soo stunning and I believe that the mesh grille is reminiscent of an older, racing Maser (even though I couldn't find an image of one).
But here is another old Maser and the grille would work just fine IMHO:

I love the coupe, it's Cruella Deville's new ride for sure.
I see that and I'm hiding my dog.

The wheels are wire wheels because they own the Borrani brand.

This must be the most beautiful sports-touring car in existance.
Excuse my arrogance.

The coupe is Hawt and the Gran Turismo wagon looks fine.
Good job Carrozzeria!

I wonder how those wheels handle corners are power. Spoked wheels are infamous for flexing a LOT. I would be ok with the grill if it was recessed in a few inches, rather that sticking out the way it does.

Looks very similiar to the Alfa 8C. Maybe it's based of it?

Oh my... that looks like a downgrade to me.
Going retro only seems to work when its built into the fiber of the car's original design. The styling on the tail (best part of the car) and side view mirrors are nice and "fit" the architecture. The grill, shark gills, and wire wheels absolutely don't fit. They have also horribly OBed... over badged. Perhaps the hood badges on the sides are relevant to some obscure past placement I'm not aware of, but again, it seems to me the most successful hommages are ones that are modern interpretations of classics, not aping them cue for cue... Design a modern wire wheel if you must.
