Proud Japanese @ May 1st 2008 1:04PM
We've seen what the Japanese can do when they get serious with the GTR. The next NSX will be an absolute beast. Remember folks HP isn't everything. It's how you put it down and how well it corners. The GTR is down on power but it doesn't have the poor leaf springs that the Z06 has and that's why it's quicker around the ring.
And before you claim leaf springs are superior. Even the corvette racing team uses coil overs instead of leaf springs in the C6R.

I don't know if the NSX will necessarily show up the GTR, not should it. The NSX was never really the bruiser the Skyline was; it was more about balance and experience than cold, brutal competency. I've had the pleasure of driving the old one and it's a fun car, moreso than the numbers suggest. I've never had the pleasure of driving a Skyline, but everything I've read seems to imply the opposite: it's capable, but it is very businesslike in it's competency.
My hope is that we get a car that weighs not a lot and acts like it; sort of a stretched Elise or S2000 or Japanese Ferrari. Even if it's down on power.

More hating on the Vette. Can we just put an end to it?
NO ONE CARES, the cars doen't even compete with one another!!!!
AWD vs RWD
V6 vs V8
4 seater vs 2 seater
etc.
About all they have in common is 4 wheels and a rear-mounted tranny.
