Prodrive tuning the Alfa Romeo Brera S in June

Click above for a high-res gallery of the Alfa Romeo Brera.
Prodrive is in the process of developing a performance package for the Alfa Romeo Brera S, the first collaboration between the two since Prodrive campaigned a pair of factory-built Alfa 155s in the British Touring Car Championship in 1995. Based off the 2.2 JTS and 3.2 V6 models, between 250 and 300 special edition models will be released. The majority of the focus will be spent on the suspension, aero enhancements and (thankfully) some weight savings. 19-inch rollers are expected to fill the wheel wells, while a handful of driver-oriented improvements, along with some S-badging, will find its way inside. Beyond that, details are scarce, but anytime you mix one-part unobtainable Italian with another part British racing legends, good things are on the way.

I want that car in my life!! Just picture it with a slightly lower ride height and some lightweight wheels (OZ Ultras or similar) like these:

Hope this doesnt mean we'll be seeing WRX style plastic tack stuck onto this stunning looking car. Prodrive do a nice job on the Astons though so I'm sure they'll do the same with this.

Alfa's may be built like crap, but they're pretty it almost doesn't matter.

Do keep up with the times and leave your outdated stereotypes at the door. Alfas of late are built to a very high standard, and cede little if anything to the Germans. The Brera I rented in England last summer felt like a tank and was superbly put together, both in terms of fit and finish and quality of materials.

I wonder how good the new 08 models run. The factory was shut down for a while to modernize and improve quality. Also, the cars lost 100 pounds. Has any mag reviewed an 08 yet?

I was comparing specs from their respective websites, and the '08 Brera V6 Q4 actually weighs a few pounds less than a comparably equipped BMW 328Xi coupe, and the 159 Q4 also weighs just under what a 328Xi sedan weighs. The Audi A4 Quattro however, is lighter then either of those.

A bit of a bubble-butt.
Oh well, I'll just have to back into my space so I can see that lovely face! I'm sure I'll enjoy the cargo capacity and improved aerodynamics that the tail hopefully provides.
Only complaint is that it appears to be missing a pedal.

Seriously, an automatic in a supposedly 'Sport' version? I do think the image is from a different car. I feel any automatic in in any Alfa is just plain wrong.

Alfa / Prodrive have made a small mistake in the Press Release. The exhaust Tail Pipes are actually mirror finish T304 stainless steel. Damned difficult to make, but a gazillion times better than chromed, would look too cheap on such a car.
