How utterly stupid. If you're going to put a diesel in it, put in one that's got 190hp but some ungodly amount of torque like 350lb-ft or so. That's your typical German diesel engine and that would actually make up for the lost hp a bit more, while still being a diesel (for whatever that's worth these days) and retaining the performance. Be careful on your math. The TDI is still going to average 40% better than the gas version.<br><br>On a side note, I would like manufacturers to make their diesels compliant with B100 diesel (or B99, whatever). With regular gas reaching $3.70 and diesel at an excruciating $4.40, I'm sure biodiesel is cheaper than regular diesel now.
