However, after seeing the spy shots of this newest Caddy, I'm having a tough time holding a grudge against GM for not bringing over the Holden wagon, even if the CTS wagon will come in a slightly smaller package.

I'm not sure how Caddy will position this against the Saab 9'3 SportCombi but I'm dying to find out. I'm just not sure what the market is like for wagons with performance/attitude. They sound like a great idea but how well do they sell? Sure the BMW wagons get some attention but how much volume is there? The Magnum is gone (too bad...I feel like it was neglected). I love my Legacy GT Wagon but Subaru has killed that. There was the V70R for a little while but none of these seem to last very long. I wish Cadillac luck though because this could be a great car...I just don't know how much of a success it would be.

sjg

Comments on Spy Shots: Cadillac CTS Wagon!

Well, since Subaru really doesn't even market the Legacy in the US, to say nothing of our wagons, it's not much of a surprise that they claim they don't sell. What was interesting to me when I bought my '05 was that it was one of 3 manual-transmission GT wagons at a dealer anywhere in Texas, and this was in March of '05. So, they don't offer any MT supply, then turn around and say "No one buys this car with a stick" and drop the manual before dropping the Legacy wagon altogether.

The Forester has gotten BIGGER and they've cursed it by not just offering the turbo engine only with an auto, but using the clunky 4-speed auto from the Impreza rather than the less-awful 5-speed from the Legacy line. So, no new Subarus in my future unless they come around. At least this Caddy has potential, I think the new CTS is sharp but didn't have room for the dog. Choice is a good thing.

DKB_SATX

Comments on Spy Shots: Cadillac CTS Wagon!

I predict that SUV sales will drop and wagon sales will increase.

I just paid $3.84 per gallon for premium here in RI and though I don't have to, it is hard to feed a whole family and a giant dinosaur juice drinker at the same time.

Ergo, wagon sales will increase.

Richard

Comments on Spy Shots: Cadillac CTS Wagon!

NICE!!!!!

oldraven

Comments on Spy Shots: Cadillac CTS Wagon!

I love wagons, but if the poor sales numbers of the Dodge Magnum are anything to go by, a lot of Americans aren't gonna be too keen on this.
