VIDEO: Bond's DBS extracted from the drink

The typical 007 Aston looks phenomenal, goes incredibly fast, and has enough gadgets to single-handedly depose a hostile government. Unfortunately, not all of those attributes apply when it's raining, as Mr. Bond's Euro KITT ended up at the bottom of lake Garda in Italy after a chase scene on the set of Quantum of Solace went awry. We reported last week that the stunt driver involved in the crash was relatively unharmed, and after watching the Youtube footage of the destroyed DBS, we'd say it was a miracle worthy of the real James Bond. Hit the jump to view the post-mortem of a DBS that can't swim. And if you come across an unbelievable deal for an Aston on Ebay, you may want to run that vehicle history report. Thanks for the tip, Joe!

I must be the minority. But I do not think they are that great looking. Just another Jag-like car.

You have that the wrong way around. The Jags started to look like Astons when Aston Martin's designer when from Aston Marton to Jaguar. No mystery there...

sorry, did not mean to imply which came first. To me they just look the same.

In eBay listing: "It has a salvage title from previous owner, I think he said it was a stolen recovery and they just took some stuff. New interior!"

Definately not Death Proof.
Must have been a hero car, and not a purpose built Aston for stunts.
Such aaaaaassssssssssss driving into lakes.

it would be intersting if they worked that into the movie somehow, seeing as they were filming a chase sceen i assume when it happened, they could just throw a shot of bond surfacing and being like "damn...i really liked that car, oh and they got away

I think that this was not an accident, but a stunt for the movie. They just are passing it off as a stunt so the movie is not spoiled.

If stunt driver can do this, those poor test drivers of Suzuki swift (taking a dip and ppl started talking about driver training in India) were probably not at fault.

Not a very strong roof structure for such a powerful car. We don't know what happened exactly (publicity stunt?) nor how they got it out of the water (dragged it out upside down?), but while the car may not be prone to rolling over, I expected the roof to be in better shape in general. How would a (stunt) driver escape that death trap?

That was the saddest thing I have ever seen.
But then again, I go to a salvage yard and get emotional seeing all of those cars that were once sparkling visions of freedom and adulthood just sitting there collecting dust and slowly rotting away to a corpse shell.

According to reports, the car was being transferred between locations when the driver lost control on wet tarmac. He managed to get out of the car before it sank to a depth of 30 metres. What I find amazing is that he managed to get out of the car at all, I mean how the h**l did he do that? The roof is pressed down almost all the way. You can hear someone in the video wondering the same thing: Non capisco como è uscito?
