Yes they need it. For the same reason they needed the Q7, even though they already had the allroad. For the same reason Volvo brought out a ute, even though they had the Cross Country, or VW the Tuareg, even thougj they had offered anall wheel drive Passat wagon. Maybe it makes no sense, but the American public does not buy wagons in a big way, but jack 'em up and call them an SUV (or better yet CUV) and they sell better. Stupid but true.
