eBay Find of the Day: Fiero Car Boat, what can't you turn this car into?

Click on the image for more pictures of the Fiero Car BoatIs there anything that the lowly Pontiac Fiero can't be turned into? We've seen Fiero
off-roaders, Fiero
Ferrari's and some Fiero conversions that completely
defy classification. This
latest find is not a driver, but a floater. Proving the phrase, "Where there's a will, there's a way," is the Fiero Car Boat. Judging from the pictures, somebody with some not-so-mad-fiberglassing skills has managed to make a Fiero watertight (at least we hope so!) and hang an outboard motor on the
rear-end stern. The seller refers to his Fiero Car Boat as "The Best Advertisement Money Can Buy." Perhaps this is true... just so long as the amount of money being spent is very, very low. Some good news: it does come with a nice trailer.
Thanks for the tip, Josh!

answer to the title question:
a good car worth keeping the way it is?

Doesn't look like this is road worthy. Pretty much misses the point of a car-boat.
HotRodzNKustoms @ Apr 21st 2008 7:26PM
I think the owner just wanted a boat that looked like a car, why a Fiero I don't know
Cameron @ Apr 21st 2008 7:24PM
If it floats at the right height and the wheels can spin because of the water then I bet this thing is a hilarious sight!

There is one thing a Fiero can't be turned into - a decent car.

Seeing this just makes me mad. Mad at GM. Mad at GM for screwing up the Fiero so badly.
If they hadn't been so schizophenic, and so ADD, we would be on the third generation of Fieros. And it'd be a fabulous little car by now.
Instead, they're turning them into boats, and we're laughing.
jamesFF @ Apr 22nd 2008 1:42AM
GM should bring back the Fiero.
Bythe way, I knew someone who had Lamboghini that was built from a Fiero.

They did; it's called the Solstice.
A sports car that has strong fundamentals, but trails its key competitor in ergonomics, interior materials, and practicality, capped off by a base engine that's too thrashy and unwilling to rev for a sports car.
Mind you, I still have a soft spot for the Solstice, but once it's no longer in fashion, I think we'll remember it much the same way.

Ever since Toyota dropped its MR-2/S, ive been longing for the moderately priced mid-engine class to return; and for the first time since the 70's, Pontiac is awesome. there's no better time to resurrect the lil' guy than now. It would be a good move for them. Plus it will help us get rid of that nasty Aztec and Grand Am taste we all have in our mouths.
Oh Fiero, i miss you. Ill never forget all the fun times we had trying to keep you in reverse gear.
Homerrlb @ Apr 22nd 2008 9:33AM
Yeah... this is that one car that everyone has been missing. If GM resurrects this car, I will completely forget about the last 20 years, the Aztek, Grand Am, Cavalier....

a quality car is what you cannot turn a fiero into
