Our cinema-obsessed sister-site got the low down on the next installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, and since the plot and character development (or lack thereof) will be predictable enough, Universal decided to drop the "Four" from the title, so the new flick will simply be known as "Fast and Furious." But wait, there's less. The plot synopsis involves everyone's least-favorite tight-laced trooper, Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and the
smash-happy Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) reigniting their feud, but putting bad blood aside to defeat a "shared enemy." The movie will take place in Los Angeles and Mexico, and despite his better angels, the film's director Justin Lin is considering another installment before retiring the series.
Fast and Furious is due to hit theaters June 5, 2009. Mark your calendars in anticipation, or avoidance.

Just released info:
The last one in the series will be called Fuel-Efficient and Forgetful and pit rival senior citizens centers racing Fits and Focii with the community watchmen in Fusions. But this one old guy has a Ford Fiesta that just needs some work. Spinoff on NBC brought to you by Ford.
Freaky.
Welcome to the new world of aging baby boomers and environmentalists.

So who gets the GT-R? I mean, there has to be one, right?
geo.stewart @ Apr 18th 2008 9:08AM
Genesis coupe, anyone?
John R @ Apr 18th 2008 10:32AM
There is going to be a GT-R.
I think the word is the J-specConnect JDM GT-R is going to be in it and I believe Vin's character is supposedly rocking it.
Thats the rumour as I've heard it. And Genesis Coupe is going to be in it, too.

why does it have to be all rice? why cant there be ferraris, lambos, corvettes, porchses, pagani, ultima, GT-R etc along with some tuner cars (most importantly, good taste. maybe allowing four colors on a car max)? seems like a good idea, i dont know.
BAMF @ Apr 18th 2008 6:19PM
There will also be a Genisis Coupe.

I blame this franchise for all the crimes against automobiles driving around in my neighbourhood...
chris @ Apr 18th 2008 9:23AM
Hell yes! I am so NOT going to see this in the theater.
Esprit bird @ Apr 18th 2008 9:33AM
So i can expect to see another wave of Civics, Lancers and Carrola's driving around with giant wings and a single stripe driving...
Pedro @ Apr 18th 2008 9:34AM
Did any of the other 3 have a plot?
Josiah @ Apr 18th 2008 9:36AM
Straight to DVD this one should go.
Seoultrain @ Apr 18th 2008 12:02PM
The force is weak with this film.
Seoultrain @ Apr 18th 2008 12:03PM
dammit, i meant "farce".
Mobius_1 @ Apr 18th 2008 9:36AM
That plot sounds... really bad and really lame
But nobody watches FF for the plot right? It's all about the cars for me
sw @ Apr 18th 2008 10:58AM
Well put, it's basically car porn. I don't watch it for the storyline.
Yar @ Apr 18th 2008 1:11PM
F&F is as much car porn as TubGirl is regular porn...
Nobody likes ricers, not even ricers..
rpm773 @ Apr 18th 2008 9:55AM
I like the "putting bad blood aside to battle a shared enemy" concept. Will they be teaming up to battle world hunger? Malaria? Neo-naziism?
rpm773 @ Apr 18th 2008 9:56AM
Faulty distributors produced in Indonesian sweatshops?
Miguel @ Apr 18th 2008 2:49PM
That line got me, too. Not because of the "shared enemy" bit, but because of the "bad blood" bit. As I recall, Walker's character gave Diesel's character a car at the end of the first movie to let him escape...and then tells his friend in the second movie that he felt he owed him, blah, blah, blah. What bad blood? Seriously.
