Pininfarina is making its
voice heard designs seen in China, with 30-percent of the company's business now being done with the Asian nation. At this month's
Beijing Motor Show, two Chinese automakers will reveal three models designed and, in some cases, engineered by the Italian firm. What's more, all of the cars are meant to be sold in the European market, as well.
Anhui Jianghuai will have two Pininfarina designed cars, a sedan code named A108 (pictured) and a five-door hatch code named A107. They are meant to hit European markets in late 2009. Brilliance, which is BMW's Chinese partner, will be showing off the BS4 station wagon. It will head to Europe with the re-engineered BS6 sedan.
Though they won't be unveiling new cars, Pininfarina's other Chinese clients include Chery, Changfeng, and Hafei, who together have at least seven cars penned by Ferrari's favorite design house.

anyone say this looks like a late 90's cavalier ?
Mwmorph @ Apr 16th 2008 7:13PM
Not at all, looks like a Jetta if anything.
jgp @ Apr 17th 2008 10:45AM
Looks like someone crashed a Cobalt into a Jetta and kept the result.
d3a @ Apr 16th 2008 7:35PM
personally i think it looks like the current hyundai elantra
Quattroporte @ Apr 16th 2008 7:37PM
I'm sorry, but what does Ferrari see in them?
Oh...wait a minute. The Quattroporte was designed by Pininfarina, wasn't it?
d3a @ Apr 16th 2008 7:40PM
...thats not exactly saying much. Maserati's are awesome machines, but the Quattroporte is simply hideous from any angle
Quattroporte @ Apr 16th 2008 7:44PM
I'll admit the Quattroporte is...unusual. But, the GranTurismo is gorgeous from any angle.

Doesn't do much for me.
Most of the Geely concepts look a lot more interesting than this invisibly blah design.
D-GOD @ Apr 16th 2008 9:50PM
i'd say the latest gen Neon+Cobalt mixed together, its Bob Lutz dream!

In the not-too-distant future, there will be cars designed and engineered in the US, and built in US managed factories located in China. These cars will take over the lower and middle market in the US.
armandd @ Apr 17th 2008 1:07AM
looks like proton persona to me..
cc @ Apr 17th 2008 2:24AM
No way... if you read the news, the way things are going, Chinese factories will be outsourcing their production to the US to save money building the cars their US-educated engineers design.
Pips @ Apr 17th 2008 8:35AM
US Focus+Cobalt

The "it looks like this, it looks like that" brigade are ridiculous. There are styling cues used in VWs, renaults and Fiats in here - which themslves have existing cues from other manufacturers. Seriously, just how many C-segment three-box sedans in the world today look utterly unique? Zero.
moha @ Apr 17th 2008 11:48AM
looks like Proton Persona with nose jobs to me...
