oh the good old 5.slow mustang, lets hope the new one has power to match its displacement

Back in the day the 5.0 was the shiznit. It was putting out 225hp when Accords weren't breaking 100. Of course it only weighed 2800lb, about the size of the current Corolla, so you didn't need 400hp to get down the road. That's probably why the 98hp Accord was considered peppy while todays 158hp Camry is considered just adequate.

sorry but comparing a 5 litre v8 to a 1.6 i4 isn't a comparison, especially when the japanese can get almost half the horsepower from about a third of the displacement. consider also that european cars were getting the same horsepower as the 5 litre from half the cylinders and 2 litres. as per my previous comment, hopefully this new 5L v8 will be better than the old one.

Wait, how big of a refresh exterior wise are we all expecting?
With gas around where I live currently being $3.89, I really don't care about a 5.0L engine. I really like the new Camaro, especially if Chevy goes with that 2.0T set-up. 2 litres can make good enough horsepower these days and a turbocharger is always fun. (I know turbos have lag and all but they're still plenty of fun. :) ) And the exterior of the new Camaro is great!

How much of an exterior refresh? Complete.. the only body panel that will remain the same is the roof.

So a 100 hp 1L engine is better than a 300 hp 5L? You're welcome to it then, more power for me.
Displacement is just a means to an end. Makes all the sense of ranking a gearbox by its toothcount.
