Click above for the video of the Aston DBS on set
There's something rather ironic about finding a spy video taken of a James Bond movie under production that makes us wonder if footage wasn't captured on an Omega watch or exploding pen. Just the same, as we reported late last year, the eminently desirable Aston Martin DBS will be returning to the silver screen for the second in the new series of Bond movies, and now we have the footage to prove it.
Called Quantum of Solace, the movie will also feature the upcoming new Ford Ka. In the first of two videos after the jump, you'll see a DBS with a huge camera rig fixed to it, with another DBS in the background and the wagon version of the new Ford Mondeo which 007 drove in Casino Royale. Oh, and turn up the speakers: you don't want to miss this most original of motion picture soundtracks.

Bond wrecked his DBS trying to avoid hitting Vesper.
I woulda saved the car.

Check her out in the movie "The Dreamers" and then tell me you would have saved the car...

I wonder how much more screen times these cars will get. With all the posts on the last Bond movie, I was expecting epic car scenes... then they have about 3, each lasting 30 seconds at most (okay, one was longer, but the car was stationary). I don't get what the big deal is?

Is this again the "concept" DBS (as in Casino Royale), or do they use a stock DBS this time? Some of the differences of these two cars are the front fenders (softer on the "concept") and the trunk lid (higher on the "concept"). Maybe there are more differences. The quality of the video is very bad, so it's hard to see. Does anyone know more?

What the hell kind of title is
"Quantum of Solace"???
That makes so little sense, I am not even sure where to start.

"The most miniscule amount of relief".
Something James might be looking for in his life, perhaps?
Of course, knowing the series, it's probably going to end up being the codename for something evil.

"Quantum of Solace" was the name of a James Bond short story. I haven't read it, but it refers to something a character says while Bond is at an incredibly boring dinner party.

Ok.
But if it has to be explained, it is still a sucky title.
That is like having an obscure or complex headline, just doesn't fill it's purpose very well at all.
The title doesn't make me want to find out what it means by watching the movie.

QoS takes place immediately after Casino Royale ends, with Bond having lost his true love and trying to hunt down the organization responsible. Quantum is the name of the organization in question.
And don't expect rocket lanuchers behind the headlights this time around, either. It's still going to be a fairly rough-around-the-edges version of Bond. Essentially no gadgetry.

This portrayal of Bond is going to appeal to a much more mature audience than any previous one. This audience has to be interested in the development of Bond's character, even as it takes its course through into traits that are directly opposite his typical self. An audience that can understand that Bond wasn't always a grown up, suave frat boy probably won't need an explanation of the title.
