Ahh, YouTube: the equivalent of morning cartoons for us grown-ups, only now we drink coffee with our Fruity Pebbles. The post title pretty much sums this up. As more people get their hands on SRT8 Dodge Challengers, more videos of wanton tire massacre will surface. Today's round comes via MyRide, which set about tagging the tarmac at Willow Springs with a silver example. When the Camaro finally comes out, we expect to see approximately one bajillion videos exactly like this, with at least half sporting the inevitable Dead Milkmen soundtrack. Thanks for the tip, David!
Don't get me wrong, I love Chrysler. My girlfriend has a 300c while I own an S550. But this idea is stupid.
If you take a long look at the Challenger's history, it was discontinued to to the gas crisis years ago. Now, gas is higher than ever and they are re-releasing a car with the same SRT8 that gets just 14 MPG city-highway (or less) ?
Madness...These things are gonna sit in lots after the intial craze over them is over. The only Chargers that will continue to sell will be the 2.7's and 3.5's a year or so from now.
First? Lol, Man more people need to hit up cars n coffee, there were two there yesterday. Hell I didn't even notice the black one after three trips around the parking lot - instead I saw it lurking in a photo next to a phantom. Also the front camber seemed odd in the Orange one Edmunds was driving.
zamafir, that Hemi Orange one you saw was pre-production. you can tell by the fact that the DODGE in the reverse light is clear. but on production it is written in black. nice try though.
I agree with Norm, and IMO it's one of the few cars aside from Euros that looks good in silver. I'm not a fan of dull or drab colors but I would take a Challenger in silver any day and smoke'em.

How frickin' awesome! I still can't believe the Challenger is back and I'm going to be driving mine soon. It even looks good in silver.

Let's also mention that this is the first time we see the DODGE reverse light light-up. It looks as good as the tires lit-up.

Oh cool, thanks, haven't kept up with this cars gestation much.

Enjoy it while it lasts. With new CAFE rules round the corner this could be one of the last chances for tire-smoking.
Ben @ Apr 13th 2008 9:29AM
Yeah, I sure will miss all of those big suvs doing all of the tire smoking
jg @ Apr 13th 2008 2:45PM

Big deal. A weak burnout session with a lame automatic challenger. Who would even want one of these with an auto?? Get a life, get a stick.
Jay @ Apr 13th 2008 10:45AM
uhhh, 425 HP with only 255s on the rear... You were expecting something different?
Eddy Alvarez @ Apr 13th 2008 10:57AM
oh man, megahawt. i'll take 3 1/2.
vwboyaf1 @ Apr 13th 2008 11:12AM
I'm tired of burnout videos. I know this car weighs 2 tons and is about as quick as a mustang gt, but can we see some high speed action?
I used to do burnouts in my volvo 240d. No big deal.
mastersmite @ Apr 13th 2008 11:16AM
am i the only one who started singing "Bitchin Camaro" at the mention of the Dead Milkmen?
iomatic @ Apr 21st 2008 11:28AM
Yes, but most people wouldn't understand the irony and criticism in that song around here.
iamhoff @ Apr 14th 2008 7:31PM
I ran over my neighbor!
Could not help it. It just started in my head..."hey Jack, what's happening? Oh, I don't know..."
