Ford Focus CC Black Magic: Any color, as long as it's black

Henry Ford would be proud of Ford Europe's latest special edition. Offered only in black – inside and out – the "Black Magic" edition is based on the new Focus Coupe-Cabriolet launched in this year Geneva. The package includes black powder-coated 17-inch alloys mounted to a sport suspension, plus tinted headlights and fog lamps. The interior is swathed in (you guessed it) black leather, complimented by special floor mats and bundled with an MP3- and Bluetooth-compatible stereo, parking sensors and wind deflector. Only 1500 copies of the Black Magic edition will be made available in Europe with a choice of 2-liter engines running on gasoline (145hp) or diesel (136hp) for ?28,100 or ?30,100 respectively. Check out the images in the gallery below for a closer look.

Yes, otherwise Ford would not be able to sell it in Europe. :P

In before whining about how it's not sold here.
Not that anyone wouldn't complain and nitpick it endlessly it if it was.

You'd hear lots of "I'd rather just get a Saab" etc etc.
The same people that nitpick the Astra for being pricey and say they'd rather just get a Rabbit/Golf.

Exactly. Before all the whinners chime in should we point out that it is selling for about $45,000? Should we also remind them that Ford is planning on bringing the Euro products over within the next few years so they can stop complaining now?
Either way we are about to hear from the mountain of folks who think Ford should have had it hear last year with AWD and a diesel zero-emissions-hybrid-engine with F1 handling and a go kart's weight for under 15 grand while seating 8 comfortably with cupholders for everyone and 5 star safety. They will then go on to tell us that Ford is going to burn in hell for not doing this 5 years ago. Of course they will forget the fact that Focus sales are actually up in North America.

I never thought I would say this but I really like the way this Focus looks.

the answer to the question that nobody has asked yet:
it translates to $47000.
WOW. KEEP IT!
(prices are relative but still)

actually in resonse to the 3000th time someone has assumed a direct translation is appropriate:
pricing includes a staggering amount of taxes for our illustrious friends overseas. Typically, changing currency to US and adding 20-25% will give a pretty close translation so mid 30's is closer to the truth (33-37K).
So, does it compare to the EOS, which starts at 30) or is it better?
And would it be a lower price if Ford tooled in Mexico or Detroit?

HEY GENIUS!
i wrote "prices are relative but still"
you assumed yourself. but dont assume b/c you only make an a$$ out of yourself.
Andrew 6:27PM (4/13/2008)
I agree with geo.stewart, you can't just translate the price using the currency exchange rates. It's just stupid.
The price is not even relative like you claim. Because if it was it would be "considered in relation" to, say, to local costs and the abnormally high exchange rates!

I think you've mistaken who's the ass in this situation...
Westside T.O. 5:27PM (4/14/2008)
Even if it were a direct price translation (the best case scenario) it would still be $30,000. Still a lot of money for such a car!
retardgroove 4:53PM (4/13/2008)
A damn Focus ends up with 10x better interior than my Mustang.

Europe has a very different idea of 'small'. To them small can also have great engines, features, accessories, interior/exterior design, etc. And they are more than willing to pay big bucks for small cars. Small does not mean cheap there.
LeRobert 5:06PM (4/13/2008)
Outside of the Netherlands, who's going to be drugged out enough to pay that much for a Ford?
