Hennessey performance expanding tuning to include ZR1, GT-R and IS F
From the Mustang to the Viper and Veyron, Hennessey Performance has spread its abilities across the performance car spectrum. And with hi-po vehicles like the IS F, ZR1, and GT-R on their way to buyers' garages, John Hennessey says he is working on packages to make all of those cars even higher-po. The IS F looks to be the first in line, with the experiment subject arriving at Hennessey's shop next week. The car will be a test bed for "headers, exhaust and air induction systems first. Then maybe a blower." He's also got his eye on the baddest boy Corvette ZR1, for which his website advertises "700+ HP coming soon!" The physics-defying GT-R is in the crosshairs as well, and if he can make it better than it already is, that would be among the best testaments for his services.
Coming down just a notch -- but still up there -- the Cadillac CTS-V and Camaro will get their chances for glory as well. While all of this sounds great, what we really hope is that none of this extra work causes Hennessey not to give us the Venom. That's the package we are truly dying to see.

"From the Mustang to the Viper and Veyron, Hennessey Performance has spread its abilities across the performance car spectrum"
It sounds like you're implying that they've tuned a Veyron, which unless I'm completely out of the loop, hasn't happened (yet).

He does have some performance upgrades for the Veyron.

I believe the main thing that is available for the veyron is an Exhaust Setup. The website doesn't say how much HP it adds, but they do have products for the Veyron. Check out their web page, they have products for 30+ cars!

Ah, I am out of the loop!
I was half expecting a fully done-up Veyron in the same vein as the Viper mod.
I wonder if any Veyron owners have actually opted for the upgrade -- honestly, any post-production tuning on something like the Veyron seems weird. I imagine they've sort of already done everything that's reasonable; budget sure as hell wasn't a constraint.

Please make this guy stop.

We can start by stopping AB from giving him free (?) publicity. Seriously guys, no one here wants to hear about this douchebag.

As far as I know and have heard Hennessy has not been living up to his rep the last couple of years. From problems with how customers have been treated and or service being sub-par.
Someone correct me if I speak to soon. As far as the tuning of the Veyron I dont think anyone has. As for the ZR-1 let Roush do it up and let the GTR be hooked up by Cobb tuning or XS engineering or the like.\
I was on a Dodge forum and heard some bad things about them. I genuinely hope that they got there act together though. I hope that I am wrong.

Guess he isn't getting of money swindling just the Viper owners.

I don't wanna see any Hennessey posts anymore. Nobody cares, it can be done better and cheaper by someone else, and most importantly, honestly.

This criminal should have been in jail years ago for all the things he has pulled, and yet he continues to get good press.....

Maybe its because he isn't a criminal, and he deserves the good press that he gets...

Stick with domestics and leave the import tuning to the big name tuners in Japan.

Hennessey performance has a bad reputation for poor quality and late delivery.
In addition, they have relatively little experience tuning Japanese imports such as the GT-R

I'm with you on this one. Let's be honest -- the Viper is not a sophisticated machine. It's a big ol' 8300cc engine in a somewhat light body; no fancy suspension, so e-diffs, etc. Hell, this is part of its appeal -- it's utterly raw power in a relatively simple car.
The GT-R, however, is technology that's almost in the same league as Ferrari's technotoys. Tuning it is no simple matter -- hell, just reading about it makes my brain hurt. There's all manner of things that could go wrong if you mess with them. I wouldn't let Hennessy anywhere near my GT-R if I owned one.
Franz 10:15PM (4/12/2008)
Ditto you guys. There's no way I'd let any shop without previous experience in tuning high tech machinery touch my GT-R. Hell, as good as many of these US tuning houses are, initially I'd probably be more inclined to spend the bucks on upgrades from tried and true Japanese outfits like Mines, HKS and Amuse. Plus in addition to ruining my car, there's always the likelihood of Hennessey swindling me.

I just did a quick look online, I was TOTALLY unaware what a d0uche he is.

Wow, as someone who might have considered a Hennessy kit, his behavior shows a very arrogant, rude person. Its one thing to defend yourself, but 35 pages with him responding is silly. Looks like at the end he was trying to be funny. Not a smart business move to go on internet forums (where I have gotten a lot of help on my cars) and insult the entire lot.
CarbonBlack 10:28PM (4/12/2008)
just one more (not that we need to keep discussing him)

There's no way to verify that is actually him on the 300C board, but by most arround, an ice pick to the head is what this guy needs. If the press is not going to make this known then the least they can do is stop being a shill for his con operation!
Chevy Nick 10:20PM (4/12/2008)
It's a disgrace to autoblog that they would even try to post something legitimate about the criminal John Hennessey. This shouldn't even be a debate, the guy has screwed so many people it's amazing he's not in jail by now.
