Conservative estimate of drivetrain loss? Conservative? 15% is not conservative estimate for a AWD car. It is much more than that.
The article you are referring to is erroneous.

Tuna -- I asked a Nissan engineer and they simply said that it was "less that 15-percent."

Wait! This won't do well at all because it only has a V6! Everyone knows that a car needs to have a V8 to be seriously considered in that price range!
