Spy Shots: Camaro spotted on desk of LEGO enthusiast

We were just about to write yet another post on new Camaro "spy shots" that were taken in Florida, but we've seen so many uncamouflaged Camaros lately that the initial wow factor has almost entirely worn off. Then we saw pics of this Camaro over at Winding Road. Built entirely out of LEGO pieces by someone who goes by the handle "Crowkillers", these scale models of that last remaining pony car to reenter the market are really amazing. It's not easy to recreate the lines of a modern day muscle car using only square blocks, so it appears that Crowkillers dipped into his bin of Technic pieces allowing for a little more complexity than ye olde traditional LEGOs. We're not entirely positive, but it appears each car is able to move under its own power, as well. They even feature fleshed out interiors and a mock V8 engine under each hood! While not official offerings from LEGO, the company responsible for much of my childhood delight could do worse than have a guy like Crowkillers on its payroll.

Wow, the lego interior is nicer than the prototype car...

@ John, I was gonna say that too!
GM could do worse than putting CrowKiller on their payroll as well.

Looks better than the one GM plans on building.

The guy has done a fine job but he just falls short of capturing the essential uglyness of the real thing. Nice try though!

Looks like the offspring of a Camaro crossbred with an Ariel Atom.

"allowing for a little more complexity than ye olde traditional LEGOs."
You do realise that the LEGO company really frowns upon the pluralisation of the name LEGO? LEGOs is wrong and always will be. LEGO is the singular and the plural.

That's not quite it. What they frown on is referring to the pieces themselves as "LEGOs." They like you to say "a LEGO brick" or "LEGO bricks" instead of "a LEGO" or "LEGOs." They've been begging people to do this for decades, but nearly everyone just calls them "LEGOs," anyway.

I hope the production version looks like this.

LEGO has a new feature on it's website. You can make a digital model using a computer program. You upload it to the website, and they send you all the custom parts and custom instructions. I bet LEGO would love to be able to sell these as a legit kit.
That would be a couple bucks in plastic and 60 bucks profit

honestly, that is awesome! I miss playing with Legos. thank goodness my son is almost old enough to play with them. Then I'll have an excuse to be a nerd, geek or anything else.

Seriously? A lego kit would be too cool! I remember we had to design cars in shop class in high school - I always sucked at it. I give the guy props for building an entire car - I wonder what he does on the weekends... :)
