Hyundai Genesis Coupe paper cut-out for those who can't wait

It was just yesterday that we brought you a couple of rubber-burning Hyundai Genesis Coupes (video here) at the New York Auto Show. There is a ton of anticipation for this rear-wheel drive sports coupe touting a 310-hp 3.8-liter V6, or a 223-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4. With an expected base price of just over $20,000, and more models to follow (including a Gensis targa and lightweight version), many of you want a Genesis now. Well, your prayers may have been answered (sans a few key mechanical components, of course).
We found this nifty cut-out Genesis Coupe pattern for the enthusiast who wants to put a Genesis Coupe on their nightstand tonight (it may help with your insomnia). If want to put a Genesis Coupe in your driveway, you will have to either wait a year or more for the 2010 model to arrive, or try the cut-out with a really big sheet of paper.

A little tricky, not sure if it actually completely lines up everywhere but could just be me... will try it more later. Thanks for sharing.

I want a lightweight Spec R version with the 290hp DI turbo 4cyl from sister company KIA's Koup concept. Build that and I'm first in line to buy one.
Seoultrain @ Mar 20th 2008 3:49PM
Just get a really big sheet of paper and put your own DI turbo 4 in there.

Just give me a big piece of paper with an S5S Raptor on it and then i'll be happy. It actually doesn't even need to be a cutout, in fact just a bit of yellow and the name is enough. I JUST NEED IT

Autoblog might want to check their source on the horsepower numbers. On Hyundia's website, it says 306hp and 213hp.
It also says Torsen limited slip will be available on both models, as well as Xenons, which I am happy about. But the real question is wether the Brembos will be offered on the 2.0t, I hope so.
I will buy the lightweight model if they make it.

power numbers vary with fuel grade. Your numbers are with regular, AB's are with premium.

Everyone is prob sick of my comments about how much I love my Tib......... BUT... well, that new Gen Coupe? I could never buy a car with a front end that ugly, nor with rear side windows that look so ridiculous!
Dan @ Mar 20th 2008 5:38PM
It doesn't even have the rear kink in the windows?!
BartMack @ Mar 20th 2008 7:15PM
Ha! Build quality is now your own fault.

For those of you who find this a little too simplistic, may I suggest you try out a paper-craft motorcycle? Yamaha has several posted on their site, and the difficulty level of the folding (and the quality of the final product) is much higher.

Enjoy!

Dan- Your right it doesn't. When I gave them to Joel P at NY Auto show he said the same thing. My friend that is a graphic designer did it and we hurried to get it done.
So we will try to make the change on it.
If any of you guys do fold it, and can take pictures of your finished product, please post it on the thread at
www.gencoupe.com
We've been so busy getting ready for the show photos/video I have only cut mine out and mine's half assembled :(
Thanks in advance guys!

Not bad looking for a Hyundai but why would they give it such a weird name. Really, the name Genesis brings reminders of the dinosaur band of the 1980's with Phil Collins. Why not just call it the Collins or a typical generic name like GT or Spider. Don't care for the name and it doesn't sound hip or image making to me.

Hey guys, there's a forum set up for the Genesis coupe over at
GenesisBK.com
Just about every Genesis picture and video, from the beginning to now, is visible there. We'd love to have you as part of our community! =)
