The styling overall is simple, but as the saying goes, the devil is definitely in the details, which I think is what gives it the elegant appeal. I am not at all a fan of SUVs, but I would take one of these in black (or white, which I'm not a fan of either) if it had the diesel or hybrid engines. Nothing is original these days. Everything is a derivative of another or combination of others. It's moot to judge new cars based on "originality". Better to judge each car by how well it's design execution fits into the brand's image, line up and needs of the intended audience. Bugs the hell out of me whenever people say "it looks like a ___" or "OMG, they copied ____". Yes, it's got wheels, tires, doors and assortment of lights. Can we please move past that.

tuna

Comments on REPORT: Land Rover to build the LRX

Ford Edge?

Nick

Comments on REPORT: Land Rover to build the LRX

What makes it cool is the low roof line which is the most likely aspect to NOT survive going into production... high waist line forces any production version to raise its roof

meaning it will look like every other 2 door suv to hit the market once the safety people get into it...

Chris

Comments on REPORT: Land Rover to build the LRX

How many other 2-door SUVs are there?

Andy

Comments on REPORT: Land Rover to build the LRX

love how when the company is up for sale is when they make all the cool decisions lol

AnthWax84

Comments on REPORT: Land Rover to build the LRX

Volvo platfrom being used again and Volvo already gave out that they will be producing a XC version of the C30. So Land Rover once agian will set the stage for both vehicles by producing the Freeland Sport before the Volvo XC30 just like the LR2 came out before the Volvo XC60. Great products betwen Volvo and Land Rover. Its a shame that Ford sold LR. At least Volvo is being prepared to take on more luxury vehicles and expand vastly. I love the Range Rover but I can't get up past the mid-waste, on this concept, without noticing the hard slant upwards towards the rear and then notice the opposing sloping roofline. It's an incredibly anti-wedge shape design and just feels so wrong visually. Mix this with Range Rover poroportions and maybe it's more appealing.

Not to mention the hole Flex carry over.

Rick
