Dodge is launching the SRT-8 model of the Challenger first. There's a head-spinning amount of variations on the Mustang GT theme. GM's not going to be left in the dust by the real-life rehashing of the late 1960s. An eagle-eyed member of the Camaro5 forums spotted an unusually dressed Zeta Camaro prototype near the Mesa, AZ proving grounds and managed to snap a cellphone shot of the car. The white mule wearing distinctive matte-black striping reportedly emitted a demonic whistle at idle, perhaps indicating the presence of the LS9 or LSA. A sinister-sounding bestriped Camaro – could it be the SS? We hope. Thanks to everyone who tipped!

        @rar
Lookup Mustang Cobra price, there is you cost.
Wow, over 550 hp if it has the LS9 or LSA engine. I wonder what the cost will be.
Gee, we couldnt tell ;) Looks nice. Couple more years and you might finally get one.

like it or not, you got to show respect for the General at bringing to market (hopefully eventually) a TRUE "SS"
the previous gen camaro ss was bad to the bone

sure the fwd sedans were a bit of a joke but when it comes to the SS badge, the camaro can deff hold its head high

Respect? What for? SVT has been doing exactly this since 1993, bringing out high quality niche performance vehicles, most with handbuilt engines. Its a been a model for the industry. SRT has been in the game for almost as long.

Does it make up for the last 20 years or so of "ss" models though?
Why do they keep popping up in white?? That is the worst color on it.
Seeing as it's a test mule, getting attention, as you would with hugger orange stripes, is the last thing GM would want. Give them a colour that doesn't stand out, and maybe the car won't either.
        1. White is an awesome sports car color. I know that this is going to be one of those 'opinions' people are so very fond of giving, but the cleanliness and pureness of a true white (none of that pearlescent crap) sports car is very hard to match.

        2. It's also the cheapest paint color you can buy, making it great for prototypes (I believe red is the most expensive).
I'm going to guess your car is white. Well if they must show it in white they can at least have hugger orange stripes on it.
Back in the early days, before the car, red was the cheapest color.
        That's why barns are red.

A blower? FFS. Just give it an LS3 or LS7, or an evolution of those for that matter, at least those engines can achieve some half-decent fuel economy while providing more than adequate power, and they also don't spoil the weight distribution like the blown units do.
An LSA would probably be more sutiable if they want the car to gain the mystique the '03/'04 Cobras have.

and AWD CTS's have been available since day one.
I don't find the '03/'04 Cobras to have any sort of "mystique", I simply find them to be annoying as hell thanks to the blower, not to mention they're nose-heavy and much heavier overall compared to the '99-'01 NA Cobras. Throw in the ever-present CAFE excuses that GM keeps throwing around as reasons to kill off future RWD efforts, and there's no way in hell I would want to see a factory-blown Camaro.

As for the CTS, I think you replied to the wrong comment, as I never mentioned the CTS.
