Click above to high-res gallery of the Spada Codatronca
The sheer outrageousness of the Spada Codatroca's design is rivaled only by the notion that it is actually being built, but in both cases seeing is believing. The wildly shark-styled Vette-based sportscar is scheduled to be officially unveiled in limited-production guise at the upcoming Top Marques show in Monaco (where else?) on April 24.
You may recall that the Codatronca packs a supercharged LS7 V8 into its expressly unique bodywork and promises a sprint to sixty in 3.2 seconds. That's in the base 600-hp TS version, which will be shown in Monte Carlo prior to the more extreme track-oriented 700-hp TSV model said to hit sixty in a scant 2.7. To produce the Codatronca for an assuredly wealthy few customers, SpadaConcept – led by former Zagato designer Ercole Spada and his son Paulo – set up SpadaVettureSport in collaboration with fellow Italian coachbuilder Aznom and a slew of other partners including Pirelli, OZ Racing, Sparco, prototype firm FS Rivoli and racing outfit Italtecnica.

Ditto, unlike most of the upstart supercars we're seeing, this one stands out and doesn't feel like another derivative of the mclaren f1.

Awesome design.
Almost has a bit of the 70's Vette mixed into it.

Any idea what the digital LED on the rear is for? couldn't find it in the articles...

It tells the speed of the car (the first article about this car said that was its purpose, at least)

a little too futuristic in the back for me. but i do love the look otherwise.
that is the "leave your a$$ in the dust in :_ _ seconds" meter on the tail fin.

Is there a Mr. Bruce Wayne on the buyer's list so far?

I'm liking it too! It's rather unique but not! I'm not in love but I would make a face at someone driving it! Ya know?

Didn't I see this car in the chase scene of THX 1138?
Awesome design. Though the novelty of F-117-look fascias is starting to wear off, I love the rear "fin."

I think it's pretty cool. Would have made a good KITT as well.
Bingimar @ Mar 17th 2008 6:27PM
and when is the autoshow?
James @ Mar 18th 2008 4:29AM
that's good, i was hoping it wasn't a speedometer! That would be somewhat inconvenient.
I love the hidden headlights.
