But then the nose of every other Saturn started to look that way too. Drive past a Saturn dealer lot, and it'll take more than a glance to pick out the Sky's from everything else. In the meantime the Solstice still has something distinct about it, and thankfully the hardtop hasn't changed that. At least I hope it hasn't; an in-person viewing will yet determine the validity of that point. Still, it all boils down to a matter of taste.

Anyway, I'm happy to see the hard top. I had planned to purchase one of these in December to celebrate finally completing my degree. With the arrival of the hard-top, the timing couldn't have been better.

jurm

Comments on

That would be awesome to get this and a Sky. The same cannot be said for the G8 ute. I really hope it gets such a bad reception at NY that it just wont be produced. It is a failure waiting to happen. If pontiac HAS to make yet another car with limited seating and a V8, why can't they make a GTO or Trans Am. I'm sure either would sell much better than this piece.

Devin

Comments on

Because "this piece" is already designed and in production, and Pontiac doesn't have to throw away money they don't have putting the ideas you mentioned through development. Not only that, but if you truly are a fan of the marque I'd think you would be happy that they're doing something a bit risky that could be a failure (no big loss if it is, as it is still a huge success in Australia) or a surprise success. I'm a long time Pontiac fan and I'd rather see them live up to their once-exciting reputation by putting something unique out there, rather than recycling the goat one more time to help you through your midlife crisis.

Philthy

Comments on

Yeah, their "once exciting reputation" included a Trans Am and a GTO. Now, they have completely abandoned the muscle car segment and left its "true fans" with nothing but a 4 cylinder solstice and a V8 sedan bigger than my grandma's Cadillac. Pontiac is just hurting themselves by "taking a risk" with the G8 sport truck.

Devin

Comments on

Nice!

Heh, I'd even be interested in the non-turbo with a stick.
