Financial loss, loss of time, if you had somewhere extremely important to be, I'd consider that a loss. I do like Japanese cars more than North American cars but you do have to give credit where it's due and the 3800's in my opinion were the second best engine that GM's ever made (first one being the current Z06 engine)
