In 10 - 15 years this car won't be worth crap.

I think that's going a little far Mr. Oak. The first M3 with a V8 is going to be worth something. And I doubt it will be considered "worth crap" at any point in the car's lifetime. The M3 has never been labeled a super-car wither. I think it's a stretch to call the ZR-1 a super-car as well. This is like they said the dealer markup, not the price of the car itself.

How much will the dealers markup ZR1s? With such an ultra-performing sportscar thats even more exclusive than the M3 and the GT-R, and the ZR1 MSRP is already at or near $100k, it's likely that the M3 and the GT-R mays till be considered a "better deal."

I'm a big fan of the new ZR-1, but don't think for a second that ANYONE will be able to buy one of those at MSRP when they first come out either.
I bet the markups on the ZR-1 will be incredible.

This isn't supposed to be a supercar... and just because you don't see the value in it doesn't mean people won't spend the money.
BTW: I'd take the M3 over the ZR1 any day.

IMO only an idiot would pay $100000 for a Corvette. At least we won't have $100000 M3s in the same showroom as not quite as cool but attainable for the Walmart night manager $50000 M3s like you have at Corvette dealerships. An M3 is an M3. There are no levels. (A regular 3 is not lesser M3, different animals). Frankly aside from a closeness in price due to markup I don't see any reason to compare Corvettes and M3s.

Neither will a ZR1, a true GM quality POS. I hate BMW's, but thinking a ZR-1 will keep value given how poor quality it is...you're smoking crack.
There are plenty of stupid BMW lovers out there ready to give their left testicle for one of these...why I don't know...but they are.

Don't get your panties in a bunch.
I see used M3s here in NJ that can be had for a song especially after the factory warranty expires. A used "Vette might just fetch a better price.
The problem with German cars, is that once out of warranty, no one with a brain wants them. Too damn expensive to keep running.
OK, let's forget the ZR-1, the CTS-V will destroy this joke.
Hell, can't wait to see how it measures up to the '08 Cobalt SS at the 'ring. Remember this thing is quite the little porker now. And yes, it's quite ugly too.
You have to really have a hard-on for BMWs to pay that for this car. That's almost Z8 money.
135 is a better buy, with a proper M3 inline 6 might just out quick this car.

Most of yall seriously need to stay away from drugs. The ZR1 will definitely appreciate in value in a few short centuries. The M3 might, but not as much as the vette. Its a Corvette, a ZR1 at that, the most powerful production vette in history. Its going to be an icon. Definite value in that. This generations M3 with no major milestones???? Not so much.
I don't even know why I replied to this stupid argument anyways. LOL.

Anyone who considers a car an investment is an idiot. Especially any 'Vette or M3. No one buys these in hopes that they'll appreciate. They buy these to drive.

A minority of the parts are identical. Mostly interior and some sheet metal. Less sheet metal now since they no longer share roof or hood. An M is not the same as any Chevy with an SS badge attached. It has a different engine, wheels, brakes, steering gear, struts, springs, rear gear, differential, transmission. The list goes on. A 328 and a 335 are the same car with an options list separating them. A M is just a different animal.
A C6 and a ZR1 come off the same assembly line right?
