Don't touring cars make a fair amount of contact? The last time I watched it there was no shortage of side by side action in the turns. The reason I ask is that while those rear tire cooling vents look pretty awesome, I'd be afraid that the support for them would end up in the tire at the first sign of contact, and cause a massive blowout.
Thoughts?

Actually those vents are very sturdy. Much of the contact that occurs on DTM is very light and quick, although it creates a big "car goes flying off the circuit" afterwards.

I agree, though I don't watch much touring (been a few years), that is a valid point. I suppose they are more concerned about aero and cooling than potential damage.

the fragil fins of the DTM car does not stop the driver to drive them in hard door to door fights..

why not the LS2LS7? @ Mar 10th 2008 2:55AM
The cars at the back often make serious contact. But then again, they don't often finish well. The drivers at the front may do a little tapping, but nothing big enough to damage this.
