Scion has further fueled rumors that it will debut a replacement for the tC coupe later this month at the 2008 New York Auto by releasing a teaser shot today of what it's calling the Hako Coupe Concept. Being a teaser, it doesn't reveal much of anything about the coupe except that it's orange and appears to have a blocky front end design. Scion has been known to make big news at the New York Auto Show, having unveiled the well regarded Fuse concept there two years ago. What we're likely to see is a concept that takes cues from the Fuse and incorporates them into a more production feasible body shape. We'll know for sure is a couple of weeks when we hit the Big Apple.

That's a neat looking nose.
Throwback @ Mar 5th 2008 2:01PM
Will it be 600 lbs heavier than the tC, like the new xB is?
zamafir @ Mar 5th 2008 2:04PM
Hopefully, customers are so smitten with the redesign as is!
dan spalinger @ Mar 5th 2008 2:05PM
LED headlights?
Dustin @ Mar 5th 2008 2:12PM
Scion concepts always have LED headlights. In the end it means nothing.
meshies @ Mar 5th 2008 2:12PM
reminds me of a certain RR coupe.
SoCalObserver @ Mar 5th 2008 2:13PM
So based on Scion's recent "supersize me" redesigns, I'm guessing the Hako Coupe is about the size of a Solara?
BLS @ Mar 5th 2008 2:16PM
Avalon Coupe that is my prediction.
YourNameHere @ Mar 5th 2008 2:19PM
i did a quick search on google and Hako seems to translate into Cube or Box...this could get really bad
YourNameHere @ Mar 5th 2008 2:23PM
also...if you look at a picture of the new Japanese bB and this teaser picture...then squint you can see similarities....maybe on some far off world toyota decided to bring the JDM bB here?!
Ricky @ Mar 5th 2008 2:25PM
You do know that the Toyota Bb is the Scion xB right? If you did, why would they release two versions of the exact same car?
YourNameHere @ Mar 5th 2008 2:29PM
he xB2 and the japanese bB look nothing alike. totally diff cars. go look for yourself.
Bancho @ Mar 5th 2008 2:31PM
That was true for the xB Ricky but not the current one. The current one is the same vehicle as the Toyota Rumion.
Bancho @ Mar 5th 2008 2:33PM
"...That was true for the first gen xB..."
That's what my post *should* have said...
tanooki2003 @ Mar 5th 2008 2:34PM
umm Ricki the first generation was but the second generation of the Scion xB is not a rebadged bB, in fact it is the Corolla Rumion in Japan.
Please do a little more research before you argue empty facts.
Ricky @ Mar 5th 2008 3:46PM
@ everyone,
Aren't we splitting hairs here... they are both built on the same exact platform with the same exact powertrain. Now tell me they aren't the exact same car? Think Firebird/Camaro please....
Bob Sintas @ Mar 5th 2008 4:06PM
Ricky,
They aren't even close to being the same platform or powertrain. Have you even seen the 2008 Scion xb and Toyota bB? This link compares the two:

Ricky @ Mar 5th 2008 4:52PM
@ Bob
Alright you got me... I suppose my Scion/Toyota knowledge is not up to par. So New Bb = Yaris based, New Xb = Corolla based. I suppose that constitutes a "different" car.
hei @ Mar 5th 2008 2:41PM
could this picture show the rear quarter in profile view?
Steve @ Mar 5th 2008 2:49PM
hei, i was going to say no way, but then looked back at the fuse pictures, back to the teaser photo and pondered whether the front overhang could be SO short, and I think you're on to something
