We were all set to go shoot the Koenigsegg CCX and CCXR Edition cars in their exotic black and red kit, but what we found instead was this carbon fiber goddess. There's nothing quite like a raw carbon fiber finish to make the visceral reaction to driving a supercar more palpable. Still, we would have liked to have seen the black and red ones too. Either way, this Swedish Siren still scores highly on the must-have meter. Like the "normal" CCX and CCXR, the Edition models are powered by supercharged V8s, but their displacement has been bumped from 4.7-liters to a full 5.0, good enough for 888HP in the CCX and a non-Edition-matching 1,018HP in the E85-burning CCXR. Both cars are said to be good for a 0-60 sprint of just under three seconds, but the "R" can top out at least five MPH higher than the CCX, 250 versus 245. Price of entry for these two limited edition models is steep, with the Edition CCX starting at 1,330,000 euro and the Edition CCXR at 1,500,000 euro, but Koenigsegg only has to find 14 takers on the former and six for the latter. They hinted that almost all slots have been claimed, so if you are interested, act now.

All other extra equipment comes as standard, such as Carbon Wheels, Special interior trim and color, Rearview camera, Satnav or Bluetooth, Amplifiers, complete Inconell exhaust system in order to save weight.

The Edition cars will be built in two different versions, a CCX model limited to 14 cars with 888 bhp and a CCXR (Bio flexi fuel) model limited to 6 cars with 1018 bhp. The price for the 888 hp CCX is 1 330 000 Euro, and 1 500 000 Euro for the 1018 hp CCXR (E85/petrol flex fuel) version. The two first of each version are already spoken for.

The Tata Nano OWNS the Koenigsegg all day long.

a koenigsegg is the only super car i'd buy, if i ever have that kind of money. their styling and performance is amazing. I'm hoping one day i get to call their head office and say "hi, i'd like to buy a koenigsegg ccx."

What is the ZR1 again? 620hp? HAHAHA. Go Ford modular power!
Hate to burst you bubble, but the SSC Ultimate Aero is a Chevy based block, and it makes 1183 hp and 1094 lb/ft on 91 octane. The CCX-R's Ford-based (design inspired by Ford, not a Ford engine) motor makes 1018 hp and a paltry 781 lb/ft on 113 octane.

        1183 > 1018
        1094 > 781
        91 < 113

More power, more torque, on lower octane pump gas.
Chevy Pushrod Power wins, once again.

Hate to break it to you...but the engines in these are actually cast by Koenigsegg, designed specifically for this car. Your Ford power was only found in the original Koenigsegg CC8s. But way to get in the ZR1 dig...
So what if it's a 6.2L motor, it weighs 422lbs. Thats far less than any ford motor.

Get off the HP/Liter bandwagon and wake up to the REAL WORLD.
Based on Ford? LOL. Its a copy of the DOHC 4.6L ford modular engine, just like the later Ford DOHC blocks were a copy of the original Italian-designed and cast block (for Cobras). And to the guy talking up GM engines like they are some technological prodigy, that SSC engine is 6.2L man!!!! HAHAHA.

"Now with Special 'Top Gear' Wing!!"

I hope this is every bit as wild as, if not wilder than, the car that nearly killed the Stig (but then again, they say he is indestructible)

      Awesome car
dont get me wrong, this is a VERY COOL car. However, i almost dont see the point. Why make a performance variant of a hyper exotic that slots between the "normal" version and the higher performance version. Would someone mind explaining that to me?

A rich fool and his excess money are soon parted.

BTW, I really dig press releases with random punctuation. They make reading them an adventure.

      That is one ugly sumbitch.
