Mitsu doesn't sell a model of any vehicle in the "DS" trim, they used to sell a "DE" model of the sedans, not sure if they still do.
I'm wondering if this model will be like Mitsubishi's last attempt to move into a new niche, the 2004 Ralliart SportBack wagon. That was a one year only model that never got a chance to penetrate the market.

You are correct, it is the DE, and its still the base Lancer.
My brother has an 04 Sportback (LS, not Ralliart) and loves it. Were I not a poor grad student, I'd be all over a Ralliart one of these.
