That is the German equivalent to rice. That car has way too many scoops, gills, and wings. Even if they are functional, there are other non extroverted ways of doing them. I like the original design of the R8.

I think it's pretty clean considering it has to cool a 6 liter twin turbo engine sitting in the middle of the car..

Though I will never question the technical aspect of this car, the esthetics of the original was questionable at best. This editon is warthhog ugly.
Here's my beef with some of you folks. You jump all over Chevy for the lexan window in the hood of the ZR1, but cosy up to that hideous carbon fiber patch that ruins the car. That thing look like a hasty patch job performed by US Navy hull technicians trying to keep a ship afloat in the middle of a storm.
That, plus this botched nose job, makes for one ugly car. Expensive ugly, but UGLY none the less.
