I've done timelapse footage of my vintage car drives before ( http://www.goolsbee.org/roadtrip/ ) but always out the windshield. This video got me thinking about other perspectives, and captured almost my entire summer roadtrip last year:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=GTTSR&search=tag

Not as well produced as the reference, but fun anyway.

I had ordered a wide-angle adapter for my camera but it did not arrive in time to be used, unfortunately. It appears to be about a 1965 or 1966 Chrysler convertible (judging by the dash shape and the windows), a series of car that was one of the best of the time. Built when Chrysler Corporation built a hell of a good car. I still have fond memories of my mother's '66 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible. Uncle had only been in our automotive faces about a year at that point, Datsun/Nissan was still importing what was essentially a Hillman copy, and Toyotas were ghastly.

The Friendly Grizzly

Comments on

Wow!
My best buddy Bill and I did the same trip - in reverse - in 1980 in a 1963 Dodge Dart ragtop that I picked up in a salvage yard.
One of the BEST drives in my life!

md

Comments on

OOOOOOLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDD

Greg

Comments on

i've never seen this until now, so thanks for posting

makes me want to do a crosscountry drive too, hmm maybe this summer...

Hank

Comments on

Stuka, Greg, etc.- so what if the video is old? It has not been posted on Autoblog before, and it is likely that thousands of readers have never seen it before.
