Earlier releases by Hyundai approximated this around 2500 lbs.
Hyundai has said the turbo 4 will be in the 225hp range. For the older folks who want the V6, the question is will they put in the 3.3 (249) or 3.8 (290ish)? I'm betting the 3.8 as this is built in Korea and so is the 3.8. Hyundai is building the 3.3 in US now. Early reports said this would be sub $20K but then the other day the base price was listed as $23K. Who knows with Hyundai.

iSpec

Comments on

If the 3.3L V6 were to house under the hood, it would be at least 264hp (as is the rating for the sedan).

The 2.0L I4 turbo (215hp) and 3.8L V6 (over 300hp) will be the two engines.

joe97

Comments on

Hyundai has not released any weight info yet so don't make it sound like Hyundai has promised anything.

Pricing is rumor at this point; although the I4 turbo will keep the price low - Just under 20K base is what I have been hearing

joe97

Comments on

my admitidly optimistic predictions are 3100 lbs for the turbo 4 w 240 hp and 3300 lbs for the v6 at 330 hp

naggs

Comments on

With the aggressive Sonata pricing now, I doubt Hyundai will be a value maker any more. Second I think you seriously need to vent your hatred towards WRX STi and EVO drivers elsewhere. May I suggest Dr. Phil? Narrow mindedness is a very dangerous thing than can lead to dementia and even alzheimer's disease.

Now for your information I am not talking about huge wing kits, 18 inch shiny rims, tinted windows, sharp pointy custom modded bumpers or skirts, and ground effects at all. I am talking about a mild sport kit sort of like the what the Civic Si and the 2006+ Mitsubishi Eclipse's Aero kit, or the similar sport package that the Mazda 3 & 6 series sport editions have. Basically OEM factory offerings, not local tuner and custom mod shop styles. Lip spoilers and mild trim help to keep it modern, sporty, and mildly aggressive even after 5 years later, sort of like the Tiburon and the 2nd Gen Mitsubishi Eclipse (98 & 99). I'm sure that some will agree that the nakedness may make the car age sooner than it really should, requiring a redesign in 1-2 years.

tanooki2003

Comments on

Looks like that weird dip in the rear windows is gone.

Jrejre

Comments on

no its there, just covered by the camo

that will deff be in the production version

naggs

Comments on

I was looking at the interior pic without the camo.
