That crease visually carries over the fender and back onto the side of the car the line that begins at the 'Enzo/F1 w/ an Alfa grille' nose. What's particularly cool is that this works from every angle I've seen photographed. In the photo above you can see how the line arcs from the nose to the flank. It gives the 8c a great sense of motion, even when standing still.

I have always believed that there could never be another car that looked as good as my father’s old E-type Jaguar. All the safety rules and regulations, the design-by-committee nature of today’s automobiles…. There is just no way to reproduce that level of beauty in sheet metal anymore.

Then Alfa Romeo proved me wrong.

The 8C is indeed in the same class as the E-type, and deserving of it’s moniker as well. I imagine it will do for Alfa what the old 8C did for it in the last century.
