Do you liken it to the Magnum because that's the only other wagon you've seen? While I didn't hate the Magnum, it was huge and not quite compelling. I like wagons, and looked at the Magnum closely when it first came out, but it was just too big and too unappealing in the interior to interest me.

Compared to this, the Magnum was styled with an axe.

DKB_SATX

Comments on

This is definitely going to be on my shopping list when I start looking for a new car.

As for why only the 2.0T will be coming over, I guess it makes sense. I did a few inventory searches for current A4 wagons in teh L.A. area several months ago, and only rarely did I found a 3.2 version; almost all of them are 2.0T's. Anyway, BMW only makes a wagon version of the 328, not the 335. Here's another possible reason that is total conjecture: they may only be putting the V6 (either the 3.2 or whatever replaces it) in the Q5 when it comes out, so giving the A4 and the Q5 different engine choices could be a way of further distinguishing them in the market.

RT

Comments on

ding. we have a winner. q5 is the higher end version w/ bigger motor

slim

Comments on

I'm currently on my second V-6 A4 Avant w/ the 6 sp manual (first '02 and now '07), and I must say that I LOVE this combination. For enthusiasts, there's simply no substitute for shifting the car yourself.

Agree that the 3.2 Avants are hard to come by, especially w/ the 6-sp. I had to special order mine.
