Saab shows off second 9-1 teaser ahead of Geneva

Last week's release of a teaser showing the front end of the Saab 9-1 concept has been followed by the shot above procured by our friends at TrollhattanSaab. The cloaked profile pic answers one of the main questions we had, namely how Saab's designers decided to shape the rear hatch. It looks more upright than we would've assumed, which is a plus for both rear-seat headroom and cargo capacity.
The subtle rear wing looks like it integrates nicely into the roofline and, when compared to the 9x concept from way back in 2001, it looks like Saab is taking all the right cues from the Aero X.

I thought the 9-1 was supposed to be based off the FWD Delta platform. This looks like it's based off the RWD Kappa platform. Not that it's a bad thing....

It's the 9x concept from 2001, covered to make us think it's the new 9-1... and made by some photochoper.

On second inspection... The covered car does look taller, beefier, and slightly larger than the 9x Concept... But for all we know, it may just be an Aero 9x....

that would make a very nice 9-1. it would be nice to see Saab being the delightfully awkward Saab that we all know and love, instead of just a trim level of every company from GM to Subaru. this could actually be competition for a volvo c30 or a mini

The nose seems a touch long, but overall the profile looks great. Keep the weight down in the 2500-2750# range and I would be interested.

I'm a bit confused as to your weight requirements. The 9-3 convertible is only 2030 fully laden. This car will more likely be between 1300 - 1800 kg.

# = pounds. 2.2#=1kg. I would like 1100-1250kg.
