Top Secret's V12 Supra heading to Nardo for top speed run

There have been a fair number of tuners that have made the trek to the Nardo test track in Italy to see if their modified rides could break an illustrious top speed. The MTM Bimoto TT comes to mind, as does AC Schnitzer's GP3.10 3-series, Edo Competition's Lamborghini LP640 and 9ff's insane GT9. Another contender has been added to the list and it's just as impressive as the rest.
Top Secret has been making the show rounds with its twin-turbo'd V12 Supra for the past year, but it's finally putting its money where its mouth is and going for a top speed of 400 km/h (248 mph) later this year in Italy. Breaching 200 km/h hasn't been an issue since the boosted 6.0-liter V12 is supposedly pushing out over 1,000 hp.
You can read up on Kazuhiko "Smoky" Nagata's golden boy here and check a Japanese-language video of the Supra after the jump.

Breaching 200km/h isn't an issue for most cars...

I'm unfamiliar with this...I take it it's two Supra I6s mated to a common crank?

No, the engine is from the 12-cylinder Japan-only Toyota Century.

I've seen this car in action at Tsukuba Circuit. It's a beast, no doubt. The creator, smoky, even took time to talk to us common folk walking around the paddock area. He's a real cool guy. I've driven a couple of Toyota Centuries in Japan, in stock form, they're torque monsters. I can't imagine how this modified Century motor feels.

I like Smokey Nagata. He's this really geeky looking guy, but is one of the most passionate tuners out there. Since there aren't any tuning options for the stock V12 engine from the Century, his shop has to make all components from scratch. And it's mostly for his love of the last gen Supra--he wants to give it a last hurrah before the new one (LS-F) comes out from Toyota.

He's also pretty nuts on the road too.

Damn Toyota needs to take some design cues from this kit and build us a new Supra already.

Probably because it's a 10+ year old engine only used in a super-limited-edition flagship car.
Seriously, V12's aren't ever found in affordable cars, and in most countries people aren't going to shell out that kind of money for a Toyota with a V12.
It's a badass engine though no doubt.

Lol. My $16k Toyota is governed at 127mph, which is 204km/h. I believe that should be the 200mph, not 200km/h in the article.
