This TV movie has so many holes in the plot. Whoever did the research didn’t do their homework. There are countless better ways to tie it in to the old series. It's poorly written, it had to be rushed and finished before the writers strike. Once the writers strike was in play the couldn't make any changes to the script. So we get a really crappy script. They leave out a lot of cool featuers the original had like, there is no Turbo Boost...that’s like one of KITT’s main things. There is no Bonnie, remember KITT’s technician, they don’t explain anywhere what happened to her. It’s just a rush job and a giant Ford commercial.

In the original, Glen Larson (the creator of Knight Rider and Battlestar Galactica), chose the car, he wanted the 82 Trans Am because it was new and looked “cool” for the time. This time around NBC/Universal just went with who paid more. I came to terms that it’s pretty much the only car that “fits” because they wanted an American two door sports car with 4 seats. That doesn’t leave much from the other manufactures so of course they went with a Mustang, they limited themselves. The whole care is an oxymoron; it’s a retro inspired design that has already been out for nearly 5 years. How again is it the epitome of technology and the car of the future? Since Ford paid the big bucks that’s why we see all the Shelby and Ford emblems, it’s retarded. The car is unimaginative, the interior is nearly stock looking because producers said buttons and LEDs were too “old.” While there might be some merit to it, you’ll see how the interior is sparce, they just take a Momo steering wheel and cut it in half, that’s retarded and will add holographic gagues in post production. There is only one big screen in the middle center stack and a pop out keyboard on the passenger side and some funky amplifier thing in the back seat. Go look at any current prototype or concept car and you’ll see interiors that are much more futurisitic.

Ok enough ranting. I’ll watch the show, but I really am not expecting much since I know it was a rush job. That’s why it’s being hyped so much, it’s the only new thing NBC has since the writer’s strike.
