For that matter, as long as I'm standing on my soap-box...<br>Why not bring over this Kuga from the European mkt., also from the Australian market, why not continue with the 2009 Ford Ranger they still produce,(Ford is making an idiotic mistake by cutting the Ranger from it's line-up stateside)  along with the Mondeo, Falcon, and Focus!!<br>Have the people of FORD, USA totally lost their minds?<br>No brainer:  Bring us the European & Australian models, and watch your sales soar!<br>No, I don't own a Ford right now, but certainly would if they'd bring over a couple of these beauties!<br>The gas mileage ain't bad either!<br>Thanks for letting me get in on this!]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[S. Unless you're talking about a cab that has 80,000 miles on it after 2 years.  I just looked up used prices and a baseline 2 year old escape with 20,000 miles is selling for $13-14k. The car is based on current models that are sold globally, so all they have to do is decide whether MERCURY or FORD and put in Dealerships. The Escape is a pretty good vehicle.  The Kuga is supposed to be part of the CUV segment.  Right now that is composed of the Edge and the Taurus X.  The SUV segment is in a period of transition right now.  The Kuga could happen in the US or appear in several other vehicles. And given the shape Ford is in, why isn't someone there exploring the possibility of bringing some of these models here to plug the holes in their lineup (let Mercury sell the Mondeo and Kuga) and provide a relatively quick fix to the need for small sub conmpact cars where Ford has no presence or any, to my knowledge, plans to compete in this segment.<br><br>Wonder if any of these cars will fit into the new worldwide design language Ford recently announced for the future;  or are these models that will simply be stop gap product to whatever J May and his crack team come up with in four or five years when Ford will be even further behind the competition than now?]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[robert bell]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Feb 14th 2008 9:27PM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
