Chrysler has released some video of the Challenger zooming around on some desert tarmac. We think that this video is from the same shoot that produced the teaser pics we all salivated over before the Challenger was officially unveiled. With that, on to the video, after the jump. Hit the gallery for more stills, while you're at it.

I just realized from the gallery this car looks incredible in gray and black. We need more non-orange pics!
jeff @ Feb 7th 2008 7:12PM
Oh boy, that is my next car - freaking sweet! Black w/ gun metal powder coated wheels!
MajorGeek @ Feb 7th 2008 7:25PM
Looks good, sounds good. Love the other colors as well, but im a sucker for the orange.

As an owner of a 60's muscle car (68 Camaro), at first I was kind of pissed that all of these car companies are "remastering" the era. But the way I look at it now, this trend is fantastic for the hobby. I'll have no problem throwing a wave to those '09+ camaro drivers, as their cars are the sincerest form of flattery of my own.
I'll never buy a new Camaro though...why drive a fake? :)
tritonofg @ Feb 7th 2008 7:38PM
This car would be great at 30k...but it starts in the low 40's and I have not found a dealer in Southern CA that is willing to sell for less than 61K (destination/title/tax not included in price).....would rather have a Porsche Cayman or slightly used Vette Z06 for that much.....
Talisman @ Feb 7th 2008 7:58PM
Give it a year after the 09's are widely available. you'll be able to get one for 40k or the regular 380hp Hemi version for 30k.
Corey L @ Feb 7th 2008 7:43PM
Love the car, but could the video be any more boring?
John @ Feb 7th 2008 7:48PM
This is a good secondary car. I plan on getting this one. Raw power and amazing design. Only meant to be brought out on those days.
DIRETTORE @ Feb 7th 2008 7:57PM
* Wait a second, is this Deja Vu or didnt we see this yesterday already?
Great vid, but where did the sound man get his degree? At least they didnt dub some crap music over it. Thanks for not doing that :D
naggs @ Feb 7th 2008 7:59PM
at 4200 lbs, its not a nimble machine, but man that thing has presence. they nailed the look, just right.
ChrisJ @ Feb 7th 2008 8:07PM
The SRT8 starts at 40k, the Challenger V6 and 5.7L HEMI will obviously be cheaper
As much as I love the Challenger - I'm really disappointed how much it weighs, I thought it was going to be lighter/faster than the other SRT8 LX cars not the same ):
Joe @ Feb 7th 2008 8:10PM
Ditto. It's a sweet car, but that was quite possibly the worst promo video I've ever heard. If you are marketing a car like this, you put the pedal on the floor and you leave it there. And then you let the mic pick it all up. You also don't use turn signals. What was that about?
Dan Roth @ Feb 7th 2008 8:51PM
That's cause it's not a "promo video" - it's just B-Roll.
calebe @ Feb 8th 2008 9:48AM
I think most americans (unfortunately)must grab the turn signal lever, break it off and pitch it out the window the first day they own the car. Very few people use it where i live. That and mirrors are turned so they can see themselves.
Joe @ Feb 7th 2008 8:11PM
Heard or seen*. Also this was supposed to be a reply to Corey.
Autoblog, you really need an edit/delete comment feature.

nice and powerful looking. To bad the ENZO is still faster and better.
TriShield @ Feb 7th 2008 8:18PM
These two Challenger videos are a bit more interesting.

And for muscle car nuts that need four doors here's the G8 media video with Metallica dubbed over it.

Thanks for the video. Although too long IMO, there's things you can't get in pictures and I enjoyed immensely like the sound and the closeup of the front end design from all angles (it should have been done to the rear too).
I also agree this car is overpriced.
RJ @ Feb 7th 2008 8:37PM
"nice and powerful looking. To bad the ENZO is still faster and better."
Yeah, and so is a Boeing 777. What's your point?
Those two cars are totally in a different class, market and price wise.
