Yuck.
The last one (heck, the last three!) had some distinctive, if somewhat odd, detailing that made it interesting--at least in the upper trims. This is sort of blah by comparison. At least a maw akin to the Eclipse's would have been good.
I'd hoped that, given the Galant's tanking sales coinciding with it's going more mainsteam, Mitsu would have felt the whack of the clue-stick and just addressed the car's problems while keeping (or growing) it's uniqueness.
They haven't learned the Mazda lesson: you cannot beat Toyota and Honda in the mainstream, you cannot beat Hyundai on value and you cannot beat GM on, well, whatever sickness it was that kept people buying Malibus and Grand Ams. You need to do something different. Mazda realized this when they dropped the "blah" 626 in favour of the Mazda6; Mitsu could do well to learn the same.

+1 That's a pretty good summation, I think. They do need to find a niche.
With the Accord becoming so big and less nimble and Mazda making the 6 even larger I'd say the market is open for a '06/'07 Sonata size car with good handling and a decent motor.
