This is sort of blah by comparison.  At least a maw akin to the Eclipse's would have been good.<br><br>I'd hoped that, given the Galant's tanking sales coinciding with it's going more mainsteam, Mitsu would have felt the whack of the clue-stick and just addressed the car's problems while keeping (or growing) it's uniqueness. <br><br>They haven't learned the Mazda lesson: you cannot beat Toyota and Honda in the mainstream, you cannot beat Hyundai on value and you cannot beat GM on, well, whatever sickness it was that kept people buying Malibus and Grand Ams.  You need to do something different. This car is not targeted at the average autoblog reader so that should be kept in mind. Having said that, Mitsu has done the best with what little money they have left to try and dig themselves out of the hole that was created by a horrible design to start with and zero percent credit to anyone with two legs.<br><br>The refreshes on this car I'm told come straight from a high ranking former Toyota employee that now sits on the MMC board in japan. Hope he knows what he's talking about. The headlights needed to be changed with the rest of the front end. The steering wheel is garbage, should have just dropped in the one from the new Lancer.<br><br>Mistsubishi doesn't make bad cars, in fact they make some of the best engines on the planet, but when they miss on style they miss by light years.<br><br>All Mistubishi has to do is take elements from the Lancer Evolution and add them as packages to thier entire car lineup. The Galant has a fine engine but needs a better transmission, add the new EVO DSG. They also need to add more sound insulation and a bit better suspension.
