Most 'Vironmentally Phriendly: Super Bowl MVP takes a hybrid Escalade

If you've made it far enough in professional football to be named the most valuable player at the Super Bowl, chances are you can already afford any car you want. So Eli Manning, star quarterback for the champion New York Giants, chose something he couldn't have: the Cadillac Escalade Two-Mode Hybrid.
As part of the MVP award, Manning was given his choice of any Cadillac he wanted. He must have been up on the latest car news (reading Autoblog in between games and practices?) and told GM that, with the hybrid Escalade coming out this summer, he wanted the first one. Maybe he saw all the ads for the truck during the game.

Did they really have to plaster those stupid "hybrid" badges all over the thing? They just take an already tacky looking truck and make it look tackier...

Say what you will about the hybrid escalade, but this may be the first automotive prize given to an athlete that he'll actually use.

I doubt a Hill Billy like Eli Manning knows what Hybrid Technology is, nor cares about it's benefits..

The Patriots choked. They were too confident. Brady is a girly man.

The PATS are done, next year, the "Manning Bowl".

Wait, are you guys sure that Eli chose the car? I would doubt that he'd have expected the MVP before the game (sounds like Brady-behavior), then knew to ask for an Escalade Hybrid, then Cadillac have one on hand to display.

He's an extremely talented quarterback and the patriots completely failed :) you have no room to talk trash, seeing as your team lost

A wise choice since he won't have to send it to one of those 'Pimp My Car' shops.

It's the first of many GM will have to give away. Hybrid intenders want a hulking, chrome-clad Cadillac SUV? I'd be surprised if it sells any better than GM's other weak hybrid attempts.

I think it's a smart move. Just imagine how the ad on Ebay will sound in a year . . .

It will sell for big bucks.

"Did I missed the boat? I truely don't understand the thinking coming from RenCen."
Nope you didn't miss the boat at all. I don't think the thinkers at the RenCen understand their thinking and therefor the thinking coming from the RenCen. No ordinary person could. Some would say that it's not thinking at all but more like a scatter gun approach, 'let's build every conceivable variant of every vehicle we make and lets build for every micro-niche in existence" That way something is bound to stick. The folks at RenCen are not running a car company but a laboratory experiment. They want to gain insight into human behavior by doing totally nonsensical bizarre things and watch the reaction. This supports the view that the RenCen is not really a corporate HQ but a multi-dimensional portal that aliens use to move between their galaxy and ours and that Rabid Rick and Maximum Bob have been taken over by a bizarre alien intelligence. This view also claims that RR and MB and many others at the RenCen have had their human intellect downloaded to an alien computer located on their home planet and that alien interests hold sway at Rencen. Hence the decisions coming from there don't make any human sense. This Cadillac SUV 2 mode hybrid is an aberration to us but to those aliens it makes perfect sense. I hear that 99% of all production of this vehicle is being shipped to Planet Z where the inhabitants there think they are the greatest thing since the invention of trans-warp drive.

Lost is a mild way of describing the beating the GIANTS handed the Patsies. Never mind the score, it was the ultimate beatdown.
Just incase you missed the game, we have video.

For once, I find myself agreeing with Mr. Oak. Brady was sacked 5 times for 37 yards. That's more yards than they lost in penalties. Net yards was only 274 yards. Their average for the season was 411. The Giants had the game in hand from the start. Not even Tom Brady's famous 4th quarter come-from-behind drive was better than Eli's. I am one happy Giants fan.
And I would have picked the CTS-V myself...
