The right way to Roll(s): Phantom stretch limo by Mutec

The Rolls-Royce Phantom makes people stop what they're doing and wonder A.) what celebrity you are, B.) why you look so different in person than you do on television, and C.) what the hell you're doing at the local Dairy Queen. We got a taste of this last Summer. It's fun. If the standard Phantom is not enough of an attention-getter for you, Mutec will take your car, add a divider behind the front seats, and stretch it an additional 1100mm (43 inches) to make it a proper limousine. This also makes it the approximate length of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, but what do you care? You won't be driving anyway. You'll be in back with three friends (or celebrities, or world leaders, or captains of industry), enjoying the revamped, face-to-face 4-seat configuration while you sip bubbly, broker multimillion-dollar handshake deals and gossip about how Jay-Z's Maybach is so completely pedestrian.

It looks like there isn't much legroom at all.

That rear facing center console slopes into the footwell area too much(pict.#8).almost like a mirror image of the foward facing console. It acts to divide the space and make it seem tighter visually when it's really not.In my opinion it should drop straight down.

I agree on the no legroom, with 4 people in the rear quarters it seems like it would be a little cramped.

There's actually a guy in my parents' neighborhood who owns one. Took me by complete surprise when I caught a glimpse of it this weekend. And, don't go jumping to conclusions, they don't live in that kind of neighborhood - it's parked in his driveway. I'd put money on him owning a limo company (it's parked right next to a Zimmer limo) or something or just ridiculously extravagant. Oh, and as for my impression of it in person, it puts the "f" in fugly.

That looks awesome... But I bet someone is soon going to stretch this even more (no more legroom problems, for one)

At present, many limo rental operators use classic automobiles, which either offer their clients a chance to ride in a luxurious Rolls-Royce, Mercedes Benz, Bentley, Town Car or stretched Hummer SU type. Some of these limo models even have the driver's compartment uncovered, which kind of goes back to the old days when horse-drawn carriages ruled the roads. Some innovative limousine hire operators have even capitalized by converting almost any vehicle imaginable, from Lincoln Navigator SUVs to Mini Coopers, BMW's, off-road trucks and SUV's, all in an effort to lure potential clients and please to most fickle of showbiz personalities. Some rental services even go to great lengths to use cars which were never even meant for the streets.

I really love this motorcar; but, it its present configuration back seat leg room is a problem.....seriously. This need some more work and creative thinking. Perhaps a Maybach-like seat, but there are other alternatives. The exterior is great; its the interior that is somewhat "constrictive", and a definite problem.
